Silver, bronze, copper and steel particles are combined with water and a binding agent to produce a malleable clay that can be shaped,  dried, refined, and fired in a kiln to burn off the binder. Once cooled, the solid piece of precious metal can be further refined and polished or left in its natural state. Working with metal clay feels like a creative chemistry experiment—some aspects can be controlled, others not. Bronze and copper pieces are fired in activated carbon and emerge from the kiln with a natural warmth and a matte finish. Carbon fired bronze often retains an astonishing Raku like patina.   SilverClay is safe and and environmentally friendly.
